Some welding and some machining has been done on the crankcases. More to do before the stud centres are reinstated back again. The centres will be spread a little further apart for greater  transfer area. The barrel has now been bored through and lipped ready for the liner, no port work as yet. The fairing for the green mean rooster racer looks real smart thanks to Jimmy, a real artist in fibreglass.... There is a screen as soon as its needed...

Just arrived in the post are a couple of inlet rubbers from a YZ250G (part number 3R4-13565-00) Yamaha one is for a spare barrel to be the mark II engine for next years racing. Shown in second picture along is the pointy end of the bike...... note new headstock fitted. Third picture indicates a good weekends work on the rear frame !! Could still be a few brackets needed for other essential items (exhaust?).

Pictured is all cycle parts to date. close inspection shows that the new rear frame still has to be cut back, and the bottom end is just a spare set of crankcases. Must get some decent foam for my delicate rear.......... and fresh in, a drive side crank wheel nicely machined to my very own design (smug or what!) which, if OK will be available somewhere on these pages later in the process.

So at this stage the Bantam actually begins to look much like a racer, the fairing still is not fitted properly as many brackets are missing, however the seat fittings are spot on with a small loop added under the back edge of the seat to stop damage occurring when it is lifted off the trailer. (something to hold on to !!) last picture in sequence is barrel, now with stub fitted, plus both halves of the crank before I do some serious measurements (for checks) before attempting to press it together.

Sunday afternoons work meant finalized fairing brackets and the screen is now fitted. However I am unsure of the riding position, this will get left to see if I can cope with it during the first runs of the motor, If not, then the seat will be changed as will the rear end of the frame!! Still looks good! The barrel progresses slowly but views of this will be restricted as top secret!! with the tank it looks the part! nice view through the screen on the right. Could do with a rev counter, but that will wait until the money comes in.
