All revealed!! the horseshoe mystery! the offending article is basically a chain guard that catches the oil and returns it to the primary chain, normally most of the oil ends up at the back of the case. This should make the Primary chains last a bit longer...... Notice the rear bicycle wheel behind, If the bantam doesn't go too well I shall be pedaling......... Second picture along is for Vic. Then to the right, the old and cold shed is looking busy with a new front pipe section under way, for another exhaust "variation on a theme" ("Tune on a pipe"?)

Now to the pointy end again and you can see the Andy Moulden cast off rev counter, and the new power tuning ploy to the right of it...... Well its just a battery for the counter really, but must check out where the wires end! Golly gosh, yet another exhaust on the way, mid picture shows the wire holding it together whilst I tack into the correct position. Right is a view further out clearly showing the exhaust line needing further adjustment.

Lots of various Alloy sprocket blanks all ready for machining and drilling. Plenty still to go at. Now the season draws closer with the practice day at Mallory only 18 days ahead, must crack on.... So to sort the slipping clutch, my mate Cliff has made me some extra strong springs to help things on! Middle picture shows new springs in top plate clutch centre push mushroom with thrust washer, and the clutch extractor in place. Wider view on right shows all the breather pipes going into a small container taped to the frame. (ACU Regs). The clutch also had a nasty lip at the back which was holding off the plates from the body and allowing them to flex under spring pressure, not much use under hard acceleration! This was removed promptly....

Practice day now 4 days to go. Nearly ready....... So.........

....... On the globally famous table, the sprocket jig! This has the correct holes for drilling through onto the sprocket, the whole lot held with a centre boss can be placed in a lathe, centered and the middle turned out successfully. This allows cheaper blanks to be bought (Yorkshire man saving money again!). Plenty of sprockets to go at! A couple of pictures through the shed door show fully prepped bikes!

Sorry about the practice day pics! only one was done as it rained all day, I hope someone else managed to get another one at least, and I will try to retrieve it soon! Result was, gear return spring problems, jumping out of second gear, and a broken throttle cable. still it seemed to be quick when I managed a lap! many things to repair and sort ready in time for the first meeting on 11th April (2004). Successes were, engine unit was reliable, clutch worked well, the carburation was slightly rich..... Onwards and upwards, eh what!

A view of the grippy bits and rider perspective. The green meanie on full chat! A close examination of some of the latest pictures will reveal I have moved the tank back a long way. This is an attempt to get a better riding position, and stop some of the sliding forward under hard braking, which was fairly dire at the Mallory test day. Another possible sponsor in the wings means a future announcement. Mallory race day 11th April now just a couple of days away, and the van needs a new tyre (what fun) plenty pictures of the day to come!!!!!!!

Race day cometh! My trusty race mechanic blowing air into the front tyre, (don't you just hate getting your mouth round that valve?).... Note the battle van in blue just to left. The team effort in the centre pic, Rodger is making sure I do not knock over the bike..... To right awaiting the race in the holding bay.

Holding bay picture again, then some rapid jet changing, (note the filter in the fuel line) then at last, top gear down the straight, tucked in and flat out! Best position of the day 5th, and engine was somewhat sick... hey another day, another race!!!! Due another page? Gearbox probs to solve, and where is the missing power? all revealed soon!

Mallory Paddock. Ta Tony!
