Welcome To The Historic Race Bantam Page,

Nothing new anywhere !!      ,,,,,,Pictures From John Colter, Trevor Amos and others.

If you recognize anyone or a bike then mail me! More Historic pictures needed Always!

On the left John Danks at Llandow plus the only road bantam on this site! A Lucas bantam owned by the evergreen John Colter.

This how it was done in the 1960s. The bantam of John Colter shown in a couple of poses, and then with John on the bike. To the right is how it was with transportation then!

Now some famous Bantam persons.... on the left Roy Bacon and Fred Launchbury at Cadwell. Then Roy bacon lapping John Colter at Caddy.

The Terry Beckitt Bantam ridden by John Colter, and the famous Fred Launchbury.

Racing the Beckitt bantam at Thruxton. In The Cadwell hairpin and an amazing picture with Roy bacon, Mole Benn and Fred Launchbury, all at once, wow!

George Todd was an amazing engineer, these two pictures show just one of his developments, a sleeve induction bantam, this was turned by a chain drive and lubricated by a Pilgrim pump at the none carb end. It was raced by Fred Launchbury, when George retired in 1962. What ever happened to this engine? The engine eventually was dropped in favour of a more traditional set up.

First pic, a close up of the amazing George Todd development, this is the Pilgrim pump that lubricated the mechanisms, believed to be chain driven (unless you know different!). Second pic is of the bantam ridden by George Todd (GTS special). The picture is thought to show the very first Todd head that was ever made. Note the emergence of the expansion chamber. This picture taken Oulton park 1957, could well be the very first expansion chamber seen on a bantam racer. Unusually shiny it appears to be chrome finished.

Picture to the left is amazingly a different lap from the race with the big three, (Bacon, Benn and Launchbury), as shown in the earlier picture. This was taken from (as far as I know) a magazine. Then on the right, the earliest race bantam picture on the site at the moment. This is John Hogan in 1951 at Castle Coombe. Note the reverse cone mega!

The "high Priest" of Bantam racing and renowned Guru of the two stroke engine, George Todd on the left. Dated 1951.

I intend to try and span the years where ever possible, but the early years are very difficult....

More Historic pictures to be added soon. BUT I NEED MORE!!       **********HELP*********
